On the first Friday in April the naked body of a young prostitute is
found in a motel room. She is bound spread eagle on the bed, a knife
has pierced her chest and an eight inch statue of the Blessed Mother
lies between her breasts.
A killer has come home to roost, crossing
state lines with his mission to purge an unholy sin. He targets those
who sell their flesh. He offers them his redemption.
Riley Cole
stands at the crossroads of her life. Four years ago her three best
friends died in a car accident. She was in the back of her boyfriend’s
customized van when her friends wrapped a car around a tree. She has
attempted to join them twice in death. Unloved in her eyes, she has
sold her flesh. Now she wishes to leave the darkness behind and start a
new life.
Paul McNally has come home to the town where he grew up.
He is the older brother of one of Riley’s dead friends. She had a crush
on Paul in her teenage years. He desired her.
Are they still drawn to each other despite her past?
Will they come together as lovers when the serial killer targets Riley as his next sinner in need of redemption?
Drawn
into the investigation of the dead prostitute are two of Paul’s
friends. Karen Madison is a local cop with distaste for girls like
Riley Cole. She is also Paul’s former high school lover. Andrew Rahn, a
friend from Paul’s childhood, is now with the FBI, interested in his
own feelings toward Karen and eager to catch a killer.
